What’s the Purpose of a Pond Liner?

A high-quality liner creates a watertight foundation for ponds in areas without natural springs, rivers, or groundwater recharge. It helps maintain consistent water levels, protect water quality, and make ongoing management more effective.

We use reinforced polyethylene liners with a five-layer construction. They’re lightweight yet durable, tear- and puncture-resistant, and designed to last. Available in 30 or 40 mil thickness, these liners are safe for fish and compatible with all kinds of pond goals—from fishing to swimming.

Reinforced liners make it possible to build ponds in areas where natural soils can’t retain water—expanding what’s possible for your property.

Seams are professionally welded using heat to create a watertight barrier.

Protective materials like riprap and ballast are added to safeguard the liner.
